What a Digital Product Is

Lesson 1 of 7 · DP 1: What a Digital Product Is & Why Being Over 50 Is Your Edge

This is the first lesson of the Your Own Digital Product lane inside RISE55, free for you. Watch the video, then read the lesson underneath. It is the honest overview: what this lane is, what it is not, and why being over 50 helps.

Make it once. Sell it a thousand times.

A digital product is knowledge someone will pay to skip the hard way of learning, a guide, a template, a workbook, a checklist, a mini-course. You make it one time, deliver a file, and get paid on repeat. No stock, no shipping, no cap on how many you sell.

The margins are unreal: an approximately $27 guide costs you nothing to deliver the 2nd, 20th, or 200th time. It is the closest thing to money-while-you-sleep a beginner can build.

Why being over 50 has the edge

The 30-year-old selling a productivity template is guessing at what grown life needs. You have lived the thing people are stuck on, downsizing, caregiving, a career pivot, retirement math, a craft you mastered. You are not competing on hustle. You are selling the shortcut only experience can write.

You are not writing a book. You are solving one specific problem for one specific person, and charging for the solution.

This lane, in order:

Find your product → make it fast → set up shop → price & launch → turn one product into a line. Let’s go.
