Lesson 1 of 6 · RR 1: What Resell Rights Really Are (PLR, MRR, RR Decoded)

This is the first lesson of the Resell Rights lane inside RISE55, free for you. Watch the video, then read the lesson underneath. It is the honest overview: what this lane is, what it is not, and why being over 50 helps.

Somebody already did the hard work of making the product. Resell rights let you sell it, legally, as your own.

Resell rights is the shortcut lane. Instead of creating a product from scratch, you buy a ready-made digital product: an ebook, a planner, a template pack, a mini-course, that comes with a licence allowing you to resell it and keep the money. No creating, no inventory. But, and this is the whole lesson: the licence decides what you’re actually allowed to do. Get that wrong and you’re in trouble; get it right and it’s a real, fast income.

The four licences, decoded (this is the entire game)

PLR: Private Label Rights. The most freedom. You can edit it, put your name on it, and sell it as your own. You may even pass resell rights to your buyer if the licence says so. This is the one we’ll mostly use.

MRR: Master Resell Rights. You can resell it, and your buyer can resell it too, but you generally cannot change it or claim you wrote it. Sell it as-is, under its own name.

RR: Resell Rights. You can sell it once, as-is, no edits, no rebranding, and your buyer cannot resell it further. The most limited resell licence.

Personal Use Only. Exactly what it says: you may use it yourself, but you may not resell it at all. If a product is personal-use-only, this lane does not apply to it.

Rule of thumb: PLR = make it yours & sell it. MRR = sell it as-is (buyer can too). RR = sell it once as-is. Personal = don’t resell.

Why being over 50 can win here

This lane rewards judgment and taste: spotting a quality product, knowing what your people need, and packaging it so it looks premium. That’s exactly what decades of experience gave you. The 20-year-olds flooding this space mostly resell junk; you can curate the good stuff and stand out instantly.

The honest picture

Resell rights is fast (you can list a product this week) but it is competitive, because everyone else bought the same PLR. The winners don’t just resell; they improve and rebrand (that’s why PLR beats MRR for us).
